NHK takes World to Burma
NHK World TV, the international English-language service from the Japanese public broadcaster, has launched on satellite television in Burma.
The channel will air 24/7 on SkyNet from today with its line-up of news about Japan and the rest of Asia and programmes showcasing Japanese culture and trends. The channel is currently available in 130 territories worldwide.
SkyNet, which is operated by Myanmar Posts Telecommunications and currently reaches 200,000 households in Burma, is also carrying NHK World Premium, the Japanese-language channel aimed at Japanese ex-pats, from today.
